Simona Vintilă's volume The German State Theatre of Timișoara - a model of survival in the Romanian cultural space represents an original diachronic and synchronic incursion into the German-speaking theater space in Romania, with a clear focus on the German State Theatre Timișoara, especially in the post-1989 period. The aim of this research is to demonstrate the spectacular evolution of the theater in Timișoara in the Romanian and European cultural context, despite the obstacles encountered over time, establishing itself as a successful theater thanks to the strategies implemented by its managers. The publication has a double vision approach by the author, that of researching the history of the German theater seen "from the outside", using studies published in German, materials from the archive of the theater, chronicles and testimonies of the theatrical ensemble, these being complemented by the "inside" perspective as an actress and director working in this cultural institution, witnessing the changes experienced since 2000 until today.
